Garden Club Meeting

Meet in the Environmental House Conference Room

Join us for our first Garden Club meeting of the season! This informal club welcomes all Pace faculty and staff who are interested in gardening. Come exchange ideas, recipes, and techniques and check out the Pleasantville Organic Vegetable Garden. Email Angelo Spillo at

“Bee Aware”

Did you know approximately 1/3 of all the food Americans eat is directly or indirectly derived from honeybee pollination? Learn more about these amazing creatures and the environmental issues that have decimated honeybee populations. Maggie Schwed, beekeeper at the Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture, will give a presentation with live honeybees. (Demonstration is weather permitting.)

“Get Dirty” Gardening Workshop

Interested in gardening? At these workshops, you’ll learn about some of the regenerative garden principles we apply in Pace’s Organic Vegetable Garden, how we prepare the soil, and how vegetables are planted. Fit Walk

12:00pm – 1:00pm
Meet at the Environmental Classroom

Get outside and get some exercise while enjoying the natural beauty on campus. Sam Miller will lead us on a hike along the Nature/Fitness Trail adjoining the Environmental Center. Appropriate clothing would be hiking boots or sneakers, long pants and layers according to weather/temperature. Sunscreen and drinking water are also suggested.
