Students from Pace University’s Animal Advocacy Clinic drafted legislation in early May— now introduced in the New York State Legislature, that would prohibit the breeding, sale, and trade of the invasive red-eared slider turtle.

Sponsored by Senator Pete Harckham and Assemblymember Linda Rosenthal, the bill is the latest in a series of wildlife protection efforts led by Environmental Studies and Sciences Professor Michelle Land, JD, and John Cronin, Executive Director of the Gale Epstein Center for Technology, Policy, and the Environment.
